Most insurance plans cover lactation care as part of preventative health care under the Affordable Care Act.

It’s true - if your plan covers things like pap smears, flu shots, and annual physicals, it likely also covers a breast pump, prenatal breastfeeding education, and postpartum lactation care by a board certified lactation consultant.

Lincoln Lactation is a preferred provider with many of the most common local insurance companies including Blue Cross Blue Shield, UHC, UMR, Midlands Choice, Oscar, First Health, Aetna, Meritain, and a handful of others. If you have questions about your insurance plan’s coverage of Lincoln lactation services, please reach out to them. You can also connect with us for general guidance.

There are two insurers who will NOT cover visits with Lincoln lactation: Medicaid and Medica.

Insurance coverage can be tricky. You can complete the following two steps in any order. If you pre-register to save your spot and then we determine that your insurance won’t cover care with Lincoln Lactation, you will be refunded minus a $3 processing fee.
